Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are great for anyone who needs vision correction and doesn't want to wear eyeglasses the whole time (for aesthetic reasons or for sports etc) or undergo LASIK surgery.
General types of contact lenses:
-
Soft Disposables
Daily, biweekly or monthly options. Disposables can cater to wearers with myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia. There are also lenses with unique material that increases the breathability, hence even wearers with dry eyes can have a go at contact lenses. We prescribe both clear and coloured disposable lenses.
-
Soft and Rigid Gas Permeable / Hard Conventional Lenses
The lifespan of conventional lenses is usually 1 - 1.5 years. They are typically recommended for wearers with very high prescriptions, even high astigmatism, or for corneas which are too curved or too flat.
-
Prosthetic Contact Lenses
Soft conventional that is coloured to cover up cornea scars. We will try to match the colour of the other healthy eye so the wearer can achieve a more balanced look.
Recommendations & Tips (these can only be done by an optometrist):
-
Always get your eyes checked before purchasing any type of contact lenses
-
Ensure that you get a trial fitting session to assess if the lenses are suitable
-
Contact lens wearers should get their eyes and lenses checked once in 6 months
